Transylvania
County Community Hospital is a full-service hospital accredited by the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and licensed by the North Carolina
Department of Human Resources. Services include 24-hour, physician-staffed
emergency room, outpatient services, a fully equipped cardiac and intensive
care unit, physical, respiratory and speech therapy, a lab and radiology
services.
Specialists
within the county include: cardiovascular, diabetes, emergency medicine,
pulmonary, opthalmology, internal medicine, allergy, immunology, dermatology,
gynecology and urology.
Transylvania
911: The enhanced system center answers emergency calls for the Ambulance
Service, Fire Department, Rescue Squads, Police Department and Sheriff's
Office.
Lifeline
Emergency Response: Lifeline provides 24-hour access to emergency help when
a person is at home alone or with a caregiver who may be unable to provide
necessary assistance in an emergency.
County
Health Department: This is a full service health department, offering senior
services such as flu shots.
In-Home
Health Care: In addition to College Walk's in-home care options, there is
Home Care, a hospital-based agency serving Transylvania County residents
for over 20 years. Home Care provides skilled and supportive care to patients
and families in the comfort of their own homes. Services include nursing,
physical therapy, in-home aides, hospice, personal care services and care
management.
A
Heart Matters: This is a cardiac rehabilitation program of medically supervised
and monitored exercise, education, and counseling for patients recovering
from a heart attack or surgery, as well as those living with heart disease.
Cancer
Care of WNC: This provides a full range of medical and emotional support
services for patients and family members going through a cancer treatment
process.
Adult
Day Care: There are two services, Koala and TVS, that provide adult day
care services. Both which are located in Brevard.
